The new SC45 evolves the concepts of previous versions and brings with it the latest version of the VISION rims, also used in the METRON range, but with more classic and less extreme construction solutions. Specifically, the carbon rim with an aerodynamic profile, available in 45 or 60 mm depth, has a 21 mm internal width with a hook for maximum efficiency with 28 to 32 mm tubeless tires. The 24 aerodynamic spokes with a 2:1 cross pattern are mounted on direct-drive hubs.
At the rear, the freehub body is the classic ratchet type, but in an improved version, without bearing preload adjustment but with pressure caps, to make the wheels more reliable and easier to maintain. Our engineers conducted extensive road and lab testing to refine the construction of the entire system, which now translates into significantly improved stability and performance, both in terms of rolling resistance and longevity.
This type of wheel is often used with little maintenance, so we conducted studies on performance degradation due to wear, improving each component and the coupling between the parts. Weight has also been reduced compared to previous versions, mainly thanks to the use of modern carbon construction, reaching 1,590 g/pair for the SC45 and 1,690 g/pair for the SC60.
