Description
After launching the first saddles with CPC technology in 2013, the patented system with three-dimensional conical nano structures that increase grip and vibration absorption, we decided to extend the 3D technology to the entire saddle, to create a new ultra-light model with an innovative multi-sector cover designed starting from the analysis of pressure tests.
The NAGO R4 PAS 3DMSS features the same ergonomic T-shape and compact dimensions (245x137 mm) as the NAGO R4 , the new multidisciplinary saddle already adopted by several professionals such as Tadej Pogačar, Mark Cavendish, Geraint Thomas, Pello Bilbao and Alberto Bettiol.
DESIGNED BY PRESSURE TEST ANALYSIS
NAGO R4 PAS 3DMSS was born from the study of the Pressure Map MyOwn tests, the proprietary system of Prologo that has allowed to scientifically analyze the areas of pressure exerted on the saddle by various professional and amateur cyclists.
The data collected allowed us to design and create an extremely light 3D saddle, with a cover composed of separate sectors able to adapt better to the different pressure areas and guarantee maximum support and comfort during all phases of pedaling.
3DMSS, MULTI SECTOR SYSTEM TECHNOLOGY GOES 3D
The cover of the new NAGO R4 PAS 3DMSS combines MSS - Multi Sector System technology with an innovative 3D printing process, which has made it possible to create five separate sectors for each side of the saddle, capable of adapting optimally to the individual areas of pressure exerted and following the cyclist's morphology.
Each sector presents different complex geometric shapes, variable densities and different elastic coefficients, based on the position and function:
- the rear section has a high density and a high elastic coefficient, to offer greater support to the ischial bones and facilitate the traction phase of pedaling;
- the 3 central sections, on the other hand, have a low density and a medium elastic coefficient, to offer maximum comfort where the soft tissues rest;
- the front section finally has a medium density and a low elastic coefficient to offer good support even when it is necessary to pedal at the tip of the saddle.
COMFORT AND PERFORMANCE, WITH A RECORD WEIGHT FOR A 3D SADDLE
Part of our design efforts also focused on improving a typical weak point of 3D-made saddles: their weight, which is notoriously higher than that of traditional saddles.
Thanks to the data emerging from the Pressure Map MyOwn tests, it was possible to identify the areas of the saddle where the applied pressures were lower. The sections of the cover corresponding to these areas were made with specific 3D geometric shapes, designed to limit the material used, without compromising comfort or limiting the performance of the saddle.
The injected long-fiber carbon base and the Nack (Nano Carbon Fiber) rail contribute to further lowering the overall weight, while still ensuring maximum rigidity.
The result? The new NAGO R4 PAS 3DMSS weighs only 149 grams. The lowest weight ever, compared to all 3D models currently on the market.
